Introduction to Philosophy is part of the curriculum for the first year of Social Sciences, Common Core, in the first semester. This subject is considered to be of great importance in the curriculum in order to create a generation capable of developing critical and analytical thinking skills and understanding social issues to enhance the role of dialogue, discussion and expression with complete freedom and a sound logical approach, and thus open new horizons for students in order to instill a spirit of cooperation and interaction to face the challenges of the world.
The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the ways of distinguishing between types of human thought and the place of philosophy within them, and to realize the importance of philosophical thought in building civilization, and the extent of the importance of philosophy in scientific research, which enables the student more than the subject, as he is familiar with prior acquisitions and knowledge through the history of civilizations and peoples, in addition to the path of the development of thought in civilizations and the classification of sciences and knowledge.
The student acquires from the Introduction to Philosophy course the abilities that enable him to be able to practice systematic and critical thinking, as well as to be able to contribute to disciplined systematic dialogue and discussion, and to have the ability to draw values ​​from philosophical positions and theories.
