*- Course Description:

Law is an academic discipline that students typically encounter to study for the first time at the university level, as there are a very few opportunities to study law before that.

The purpose of this course is to assist students aspiring to study law in comprehending the nature of law and the methods of studying it, thereby facilitating their progression to more specialized legal courses in the future.

This course provides a foundational overview of the Algerian legal system, touching upon a variety of topics.

Students will explore the origins and sources of law, nature, structures and its diverse classifications, also prospecting the process of law, and characteristics of legal norms.
Our aim is to clearly explain what it means to study law while demonstrating exactly how legal principles are applied and used by professionals in the actual legal field in an easy understandable way.

This course addresses these concepts using familiar and concrete examples; therefore, it is accessible to students majoring  in the 1st level common core LLMD system.

-Definition, scope, and characteristics of law.

- Sources, structure and classifications of law.

- Interpretation and applications of law.

- Theory of rights as complementary component of legal studies.

*- Final exam:
** The first half of the course (
from Class 6) focuses on knowledge input.

The second half of the course (from Class 7) focuses on knowledge output. If we are short on time in the first half of the course, the hours may be adjusted with reference to the lesson plan.

Assessment

Exam (100%) Final, in the programmed period.
